Leadership Obsessive

I’m sick!

Come to Launch48 Bucharest

I’m sick alright! Sick of all the entrepreneurial talk. Sick of Opencoffee , Webstock, WebClub, Tech Breakfasts

Sick of elevator pitches, business plans, process workflows, methodologies .. you get the point. None of you know anything about them deep enough to succeed.

When it comes to putting it into action, when it comes to putting your little minds at work everybody backs up. So I’m sick!

Launch48 is a heck of an event in London, it is a wonderful opportunity of expression of personal talent, yet you all here in Bucharest back up. Admit it! Most of you are coming to the events for pathetic little networking on how much your silly website grew 100uniques/day and for the free chips and cookies! I personally met few of you who said it…and that makes me sad.

Cristi Manafu has been struggling for the past few weeks to bring this very cool event to Romania. And the big disappointment is that you people keep ignoring it!

Now here’s the deal: get your ass up and go for it. What’s in for you? 2 days of fantastic trainings that will let you truly understand what building a web startup from the scratch really means. Contribute, collaborate, go  past the borders of development, PR, marketing. Learn best practices, learn how to deal with crisis, extreme situations, get pressure due to time, gain advice from people who are making fortunes (or maybe just making a decent living) out of it!

What’s the turnover? A project to put in your portfolio, a project to start with, that undergoes rigorous reviews, a project that can become successful and that you would have the balls to go to to some seed investors with.

Chances are you will get noticed if you build something cool!

Developers: get a sneak peak of the marketing process, of how to build a business plan. In project networking is way cooler then the chips and cookies down the hallway networking, I can vouch on that!

Besides, you’re all geeks, you’ll have a nice chance of meeting cute PR girls! :)

So? What do you say? Got you convinced? Will I see you there?

Here’s all you need:

  • One note for Marcel (Mike) Meyers. I do not publish content from people with undisclosed identities! fakeemail@email.com does not sound real to me.
  • @andrei it's not about building a full-functional app. It's about getting in touch with the sides of the business you weren't even aware you should consider, about team working, about reaching out to new technologies.
One example: most of our developers don't even dream of hosting apps in the cloud ( namely reaching that kind of size so they need to host it there)
Come to the event and we can talk more about it. Also, add me on FB or drop me a line hello at vvladescu d0t com
  • Building something durable in 48 hours is pointless. You will most probably build a one-use [web-]app.

You can't have good DB/Web-tier design (nor Graphic design) made in 48 hours no matter how many people. This is so much in the spirit of the most PHP websites out there : build a crap in x hours and then rewrite it every 2-3 months because of a feature request.

Rome wasn't build in a day. Nor two.
